How we produce content

Our articles are written with the help of an AI system, from sources we name, under rules a person set and a person is responsible for. Here are the rules.

The short version

A writing system drafts our articles every day from a fixed list of sources. Every fact that could be wrong carries a link to where it came from. The system is not allowed to publish team news without a source, to present a rumour as a fact, to quote any price that is not from BettingBeast's own feed with a timestamp, or to use words that promise outcomes. A named person, the responsible editor, answers for what is published and fixes what is wrong.

Where our facts come from

  • Fixtures, results and tables come from a licensed data feed (Football-Data.org) and the competitions' official sites.
  • Team news comes from clubs' official sites and press conferences, the Premier League's own availability data, and established news outlets. We link to the source and say when we read it. If there is no confirmed team news, we say so rather than guess.
  • Transfers: a confirmed move is one the club has announced. Everything else is a report, and we say who reported it ("according to...") every time.
  • Odds come only from BettingBeast's live feed. Every price carries the time it was captured, in CET, and the words "prices move". We never quote another bookmaker's price and we never say a price is the "best".
  • Statistics are quoted a few at a time, with the source named. We do not republish other sites' tables.

What we never write

No guarantees, no "sure things", no "risk-free", no "locks" or "bankers", no claims that a bet is a way to make money. No predictions dressed as facts. No invented injuries, line-ups or quotes. When we state a view, it reads as a view: "a draw looks more likely than the price suggests", never "X will win".

How the AI part works

The system reads the data and the sources, writes a draft in plain English, and runs it through an automated check for the rules above: every claim linked, every price stamped, no banned words, no unsourced names. Articles that fail the check are not published. The responsible editor reviews published articles, and a sample of every day's output is re-checked against its sources. We label this openly because readers deserve to know how the words were made; Google and other services ask for the same.

Updates and corrections

Match articles are updated when line-ups are confirmed, usually 75 minutes before kick-off in the Premier League and UEFA competitions. Every update changes the "Updated" time on the page. Mistakes are corrected on the page with a dated note, never silently. See Corrections.

Our relationship with BettingBeast

Match Time is owned by Checkraise Ltd, a company with the same owners as BettingBeast. Odds links on this site go to BettingBeast. We do not run adverts or affiliate links for anyone else. Articles on the News desk carry no odds at all. See About and ownership.
